About Copa Curiosa

Hola! Welcome to Copa Curiosa – a place where we explore bottle after bottle, glass after glass of Spanish wine. This blog was born out of a simple but intriguing thought; can a wine lover share her love for spanish wines in this era of “I can google everything”. Well, I am gonna try! The name Copa Curiosa means curious glass in English. There is a certain amount of risk when trying a new bottle. Is it going to be good? Would I like it? Oh the suspense!

Sometimes you choose a wine off a shelf at the supermarket on a whim. “Chardonnay? Yup that will do.” Dry, crisp, refreshing; the safe choice. Did you know that Chardonnay is one of the most planted white grapes in the world? Well now you do.

As someone who moved to Spain three years ago, I was really surprised how good spanish wines are (and cheap) and often wondered why it’s always overshadowed by French and Italian wines. So here I am, to introduce and speak to anyone who would listen to your friendly sommelier wannabe share all things about spanish wines.

Salud.
